The PMC Motorsport short shifter is engineered for seamless integration into BMW E36 and Z3 models, supporting all body variants. This component is compatible with manual transmissions, specifically GETRAG and ZF models, including Getrag 250, 260, 420, and ZF5 GS6. The design is plug-and-play, allowing installation without alterations to the vehicle's tunnel structure.

Constructed from high-quality aluminum, the shifter offers both durability and lightness. The corrosion-resistant properties of aluminum ensure the product's longevity and maintain its functionality and aesthetics. The shifter includes an M20x1.5 threaded lever and anodized aluminum knobs, which are replaceable to fit user preferences.

For those involved in gearbox swaps, an adjustable selector rod is available separately. This rod is compatible with all BMW manual gearboxes, including ZF models GS5-39DZ, GS6-37 DZ/BZ, GS6-53 DZ/BZ, GS6-45 DZ/BZ, and Getrag models 250, 260, 420. The adjustable feature allows for precise length customization, accommodating various swaps to BMW manual gearboxes. When paired with PMC Motorsport short shifters, it enhances gear shifting precision and dynamics.

Note that the adjustable selector is not included in the short shifter kit and must be purchased separately. For optimal performance, it is recommended to install stiffer gearbox and engine mounts to limit drivetrain movement. Professional installation is advised, and it is essential to clean the gear selector rod thoroughly and lubricate the lower bushing of the shifter with grease prior to installation.
