The PMC Motorsport custom aluminum flywheel is engineered to facilitate the integration of the Toyota JZ engine series with the Mazda RX-8 manual transmission system. This component is compatible with both non VVT-i and VVT-i iterations of the Toyota JZ engines, encompassing models such as 1JZ-FSE, 1JZ-GE, 1JZ-GTE, 2JZ-FSE, 2JZ-GE, and 2JZ-GTE. It supports the 5-speed and 6-speed manual gearboxes found in the Mazda RX-8.

The flywheel is designed with a single disc and a friction plate diameter of 240mm (9.45 inches). Recommended clutch pressure plates include:

Installation necessitates a clutch disc from the LUK 624 3297 09 OE LUK 324 0430 10 clutch kit and a dedicated clutch slave cylinder for the gearbox. Proper installation requires utilizing the automatic version ring gear from the Toyota 1JZ 2JZ engines, with a specified spacer (OE 32116-22020 4.5mm) positioned between the engine block and the ring gear. The original equipment (OE) starter for Toyota 1JZ 2JZ remains applicable without the need for an additional pinion cover.

The requisite flexplate/ring gear/drive plate part numbers are:

• Toyota OE 32101-30090
• 32101-22050, accompanied by the specified spacer

This flywheel, weighing 4.6 kg (10.14 lbs), requires a flywheel bolt tightening torque of 72Nm in conjunction with adhesive. The package includes:

• A crankshaft bolts kit
• A clutch cover - pressure plate bolts kit
