The Tilton Engineering 66.312 HGG is a 7.25″ (184mm) OT-II metallic racing clutch pressure plate engineered for high-performance applications including road racing, circle track, open wheel, and formula racing. This component delivers a low moment-of-inertia, high torque capacity, and the reliability essential for rigorous racing environments. It is important to note that metallic clutches are not advisable for street use.
The product is offered in two distinct configurations: one compatible with step-type flywheels and another for pot-type (no-step) flywheels. Step-type flywheels feature a .100″ step designed to engage with the clutch's friction material, while pot-type flywheels ensure a flush contact between the friction disc and clutch cover legs, suitable for clutches tailored to these specifications.
Two variations of pressure plates are available: High Ratio and Ultra-High Ratio. High Ratio pressure plates provide a high clamp load over an extensive wear range, whereas Ultra-High Ratio plates deliver 20% greater clamp load and increased diaphragm spring travel for enhanced modulation. The High Ratio maintains a flat clamp load curve until approximately .030″ (76mm) of wear is reached, in contrast to the Ultra-High Ratio, which provides a higher initial clamp load but experiences faster wear.

Additionally, it offers 20% more clamp load than the High Ratio for increased peak torque capacity, though this load decreases more rapidly with wear compared to the High Ratio.
