The CNC71 Motorsport Halfshaft Spacers for BMW Type 188, with a thickness of 5 mm, are engineered to prevent increased stress on halfshaft joints by optimizing their operating position.

These spacers are particularly beneficial for vehicles that have been significantly lowered or have rear wheels set with negative camber, both of which contribute to accelerated wear on halfshaft components.

To determine if spacers are necessary, perform a simple test by unscrewing the joints from the differential flanges, lowering the car, and measuring the distance created between the halfshaft and the flange.

If this distance exceeds the optimal range defined by the manufacturer, the installation of spacers is recommended.

The use of one 5 mm thick spacer does not require bolt replacement, allowing for installation with original bolts.

However, if the distance between the halfshaft and flange is too large, two or more spacers may be needed per side, which will necessitate longer bolts and it is advisable to apply thread glue to ensure secure installation.
