The Tilton Engineering 66.302 HGG clutch pressure plate is engineered for high-performance racing applications, specifically designed for road racing, circle track, open wheel, and formula categories. As part of the OT-II Metallic Racing Clutches series, this 7.25" (184mm) pressure plate is optimized for low moment-of-inertia and high torque capacity, ensuring reliability under rigorous racing conditions. It is not suitable for street use.

The clutch pressure plate is compatible with step-type flywheels, characterized by a .100" step that facilitates contact with the friction material, resulting in a .100" height difference between the bottom friction disc and the end of the clutch cover legs. This design is distinct from pot-type flywheels, which do not have this step.

This 7.25" metallic clutch configuration is available with either a High Ratio or Ultra-High Ratio pressure plate. The High Ratio variant offers a consistent clamp load across a broad wear range, with a flat clamp load curve extending until .030" (76mm) of wear. In contrast, the Ultra-High Ratio version provides a 20% increase in clamp load and diaphragm spring travel, enhancing modulation and peak torque capacity, albeit with a quicker wear rate.

Specifications:

  • Brand: Tilton Engineering
  • Symbol: TILTON 66.302 HGG STEP
  • Diameter: 184mm / 7.25"
  • Clutch Type: 2-discs
  • Pressure Plate Type: STEP
  • Spring Color: Double Gray / High
  • Max Torque: 1030Nm / 760lb-ft
  • Weight: 3.4 kg / 7.5 lbs
  • Moment of Inertia (M.O.I.): .0195 kg-m² / 66.3 lb-in²

Features include a standard pressure plate ratio for 7.25" metallic clutches, short release travel facilitating quick engagement and shifting, and a consistent clamp load curve for extended wear. The Ultra-High Ratio variant offers 20% more release travel and clamp load than the High Ratio model, enhancing modulation and peak torque capacity while exhibiting a faster reduction in clamp load with wear.
