The PMC Motorsport Race Stage 1 Performance Clutch Kit is engineered for BMW engines M50, M52, and M54, specifically designed to be compatible with ZF / Getrag 5-speed transmissions. This kit incorporates a sintered disc from PMC and Sachs Performance, identified by part number 883082.001243.

Central to its design is a lightweight single mass flywheel, weighing 7150g (15.76lb), which is approximately 60% lighter than the original dual-mass flywheel. This reduction in weight significantly enhances throttle response and acceleration.

Optimized for motorsport applications, this clutch kit is particularly effective on twisty circuits, allowing for rapid speed recovery in corners. While it does not increase engine output, it effectively reduces drivetrain losses, delivering slightly more power to the wheels.

The clutch disc measures 240mm (9.25") with a spline size of 23x29-10N, and the system is capable of handling a maximum torque of 800Nm (589.9 lb⋅ft). The set includes essential components such as:

Note that it is not compatible with the BMW M54 6-speed gearbox.

The ZF Friedrichshafen ZF-5 (ZF 5) S5D-310 and S5D-320 are 5-speed manual transmissions associated with these BMW models, weighing approximately 39 kg (86 lb). Their gear ratios are as follows:

Flywheel mounting bolts were incorporated into the product on 10/09/2024; for kits ordered prior to this date, BMW OE bolts must be used.
